Testing of USB-hub bought on eBay

Advert says "Mini High-Speed USB 2.0 4 Port HUB Splitter Cable Adapter... (310669598417)"

So testing by copying 25 images totaling of 63MB:

A Windows XP computer

Reference hub (USB2):

• 15 s

The bought hub:

• Test 1: 3 minutes (Does not connect as a USB2 port)
• Test 2: stops after 10 files after about a minute, with a message "A unit connected to the computer doesn't work"
• Test 3: computer crashes with a blue screen

A Linux computer

Reference hub (USB2):

• 13 s

The bought hub:

• After 58 seconds an error message appears, and the device is unmounted, and by then only 18 images has been copied.
